Not sure how I feel about this. I always preorder the Ultimate/Deluxe/Super/44 DD edition since they usually come with a season pass and as a result work out cheaper but this is very interesting and like Failrace said, it could start a bad trend. Either way I’m very pumped for the game and especially the 3D puddles!

3D puddles must mean realistic track textures.

I saw it up for Pre-Order on Amazon the other day and said what the hell - orig ship date was 12/31/15, but I got an e-mail yesterday sayinbg it’s now 9/15/15.
I can’t say I care about racing at night, but the weather is intriguing.

Took me a while to translate that back into English but I just checked on the Xbox Store where is clearly says “Pre-ordering will allow access before 15/9/15” with the date being the 10th.
I hate night racing, I like looking ahead and planning before hand and from the footage I’ve have seen you can see sod all past your headlights. The 3D puddles thing really got me thinking about how no racing game before has had puddle depth so it should be very interesting.

DO NOT PREORDER!!! There is absolutely no sense in doing so, stores will not run out of copies, this is the first reason. Preordering has become an anti-consumerist practice that publishers exploit. They cut content from the game to sell it as those stupid “free” preorder bonuses. And on top of that it is not even exclusive, because they will make it available later. Preordering has become - we want to recoup dev costs and we don’t care if it is actually good, because the hype train is real. Also wait for reviews, you don’t know maybe the game will actually be shit or technically broken.
Of course everybody is entitled to do whatever he/she wants with his/her money, but it is just one of those things we can change and will result in better things overall.

Only pre-order bonus here is that I get to play it 5 days early. Plus I have very shitty internet and with massive day one patches, pre-loading is becoming essential for me. Plus Turn 10 have enough goodwill with me that I trust them to launch a working game.

Value is subjective. What you consider“anti-consumer” to you may be “pro-consumer” to someone else.

Well Forza 5 was not very good, had woeful micro-transactions so you should take the new game with a grain of slat, also that Ford whoring has just left a bad taste in my mouth. How can I trust them with that amount of whoring, that they are not screwing performance of other cars, because of a company that has poured tones of money into advertisement.

Didn’t Forza 5 have free tracks??
Didn’t Forza 5 have a car pass pack just like the previous 2 Forza’s only this time we got more than double the amount of promised cars? Instead of 6 months of 10 cars we got like 130 cars?
Anyways hate on microtransactions all you want, but Forza 5 certainly did not invent them, and they have existed in the Forza games since Forza 2 track dlc’s

Sorry, but taking content out and making it hostage for preorders is the abolute definition of anti-consumer practices. This is like Ford giving you more hp or some other “extra”, if you buy the car before you can know, if it is not another Pinto. No other business has trived more, than videogames on promises and content that will be granted to you “exclusively”, if you give them money before you can verify if it is actually good.

Forza 5’s problems can be distilled into a single phrase. Launch game. The game was rushed and was developed on platform which can be likened to a moving target but despite this chaos they got out a good game in my opinion. So based on their track record which shows them as the highest rated racing series ever made and that they have been given the full two years as opposed to less than 18 months, I have full confidence in Turn 10 delivering a brilliant game.
As for the whoring:
1. That is very illegal.
2. Don’t piss off the licence holders if you are making a racing game.
3. Utterly meaningless in Forza (Modifications and tuning).
4. They haven’t done that before and every game after 2 has had a strong marketing deal.
Also Tokens are out of Forza 6. Why? Because no one used them.

It did have much less cars on launch than some of the previous games, also not being the first with micro-transactions don’t justify bad practices.

And microtransactions aren’t even in Horizon 2 at all. Nor will they be in FM6.

3d crowds?

I assume so since the DLC tracks for Forza 5 tracks had 3D crowds.
